Biographical or historical data
Andrew McDowell Jackson was a clerk in the U.S. Post Office in Washington D.C., and later a purser in the U.S. Navy dating from 23 May 1832. He resided in Portsmouth, Virginia. He married Susan Jane Tucker in Washington, D.C. on 1 April 1828. He died in New York City on 31 October 1840.
