Summary
Births and deaths, 1661-1810. These are the only extant records of St. Stephen's Parish for the colonial period. The earlier items may have been compiled from records now lost as the entries until the mid-eighteenth century are recorded in the same handwriting and afterwards the script varies. Grouped more or less alphabetically, the entries are best examined with the aid of the published volume in the series, VIRGINIA COLONIAL ABSTRACTS, vol. III, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY RECORD OF BIRTHS, 1661-1810, compiled by Beverly Fleet, 1937. These birth and death records are also available on Northumberland County reel 71
