Transcript of court order, dated 12 March 1778, granting the petition of John Yates (d. 1812) and Dr. Michael Yates (1720-1789), executors of George Yates (d. 1778), all of Caroline County, Virginia, for services rendered the revolutionary cause. George and Michael Yates had taken care of and provided medical treatment for William Raines, a Continental Army soldier who had contracted smallpox. This transcript was made by the Caroline Clerk of Court 22 April 1907
