Haynes (b. 1827) of Company H, 9th Virginia Cavalry expressing appreciation for Edwards' service as a soldier in the company, mentioning Edwards' wound, mentioning a rise in religion in the army, and providing news of the regiment; copy of a decree, 17 November 1890, in the suit of Edwards vs. Ellett and als. concerning a burial plot for the Ellett family located on Riverview Farm, which had been purchased by Edwards in 1881; and deed, 4 January 1844, recorded 22 January 1844, and reentered into record 27 December 1892, between Telemachus B. Littlepage (b. ca. 1809) and and William M. Ellett (b. ca. 1820) for Riverview Farm. This deed was reentered into record because the original was destroyed by a fire in the clerk's office 18 January 1885

Biographical or historical data
Julian Temple Edwards was born 14 November 1841 at Lanesville in King William County, Virginia, to Lemuel Edwards (1807 or 1817-1907) and his wife. When the Civil War began, Edwards enlisted in Company H, 9th Virginia Cavalry, known as Lee's Rangers, on 15 June 1861. In 1862, he served as courier for Stonewall Jackson (1824-1863). Edwards was wounded in his arm in July or August 1863 and his wound forced him out of the service for a year. In June 1864, Edwards was assigned to the treasury department in Richmond, Virginia, and then to medical duty at Chimborazo Hospital where he served for the rest of the war. After the war, Edwards returned to King William County and became a physician. He married Anna Corbin Pickett Bibb (1836-1913) 13 December 1866, and they had five children. Edwards died in King William County 31 August 1917 and was buried in the family cemetery at Lanesville.
