The Covington-Durham families are descendants of William F. Durham and Walter G. Covington, farmers of Essex County, Virginia. James Austin Covington and Thomas R. Covington were sons of Walter G. Covington and his wife Lucy E. Covington. Rosa B. Covington was the wife of Walter F. Covington, the son of James Austin Covington.
