Biographical or historical data
Moss Abram Plunkett (1888-1957), of Franklin County, Virginia, was the son of Algernon Wade Plunkett and Emma Bell Plunkett. He received his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1911 and established the law firm of Plunkett & Plunkett in Roanoake, Virginia, in 1916. On 22 October 1919 he married Billie Puett of Texas. Throughout his career he was involved with the Roanoke Democratic Executive Committee and Roanoke school board. He campaigned unsuccessfully for Congress in 1942 and for governor of Virginia in 1945.
