Summary
The Edward Owens daybook, 1858-1862, 1864-1866, 1890-1912, records accounts with individual customers for mixed goods starting 10 September 1858. There are occasional entries of fees charges for the use of horse and wagon. The entries continue in the same style for 239 pages until 20 September 1861, and they are headed by date, weekday and the word "Bellevue," possibly the store name or location. The heading "Bellevue" is discontinued for entries from 1 March 1864-7 May 1866 (page 240-364), but the nature of the entries is similar. The later entries are less regular and record purchase of goods as well as wages for labor, like gardening or farm and field work. Several pages are headed "cows." Also includes several news clippings from undentified papers and advertisings
