Many of the deeds, letters, minutes, notices and other papers concern the Chain Bridge Road, Little Falls Road, and Phillips Road in Alexandria and Fairfax Counties; other deeds and plats, 1898-1913, are for property in Alexandria, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Warren Counties; and other correspondence, 1902-1924, concerns Ryer family news, an insurance policy, and the death of H. Scott Ryer. Papers also include an account of the estate of Jason O. Ryer; an insurance contract for H. Scott Ryer; correspondence and financial report on the Quassiack National Bank in New York; report cards, 1917 and 1923, for Eleanor Ryer; poems, including two written by Henry C. Ryer; and obituaries of Sarah A. R. Silliman (1852-1917) of Falls Church. Also includes correspondence, 1943-1944, from William R. A. Kleysteuber serving in the army during World War II to Henry and Florence Ryer, and correspondence, 1954, between Lydia Waldo Lockling and United States Surgeon General Leonard Scheele regarding Lockling's father Dr. Roswell Waldo (d. 1878); a silent movie script and beginning of a story by Lydia Lockling; an issue of the ILLUSTRATED WASHINGTON CHRONICLE; and blank checks, a promissory note, a 1915 calendar book, a train timetable and other miscellaneous items
