Biographical or historical data
This church traces its origin to the old Naked Creek Church begun in 1733. In 1747, the church was moved west across the Shenandoah River and given the name St. Peter's. It was originally located in Augusta County and then became part of Rockingham County when that county was formed from Augusta County in 1778. Since Page County was not formed from parts of Rockingham and Shenandoah Counties until 1831, the church was in Rockingham County during the majority of the register's date span.
