Biographical or historical data
John Burnley was the son of Hardin Burnley of Hanover County, Virginia. John Burnley owned property in Hanover County and King William County, Virginia and engaged in mercantile trade. Burnley sided with Great Britain in the days leading up to the American Revolution, moving to London in 1771. A merchant in England, Burnley died in 1779.
