Biographical or historical data
Obadiah Hawkins was born about 1770 in Prince Edward County, Virginia, and married Sally Hudgins (b. ca. 1773) 7 April 1797. Hawkins served in the War of 1812 as a private in Captain John Clark's company in the 63rd Virginia Regiment from Prince Edward County. After the war, Hawkins moved to Nottoway County, Virginia, where he died in 1828.
