Biographical or historical data
Stafford Henry Parker was born in Port Royal, Caroline County, Virginia, in 1788. He was the son of Watts Parker and Mary Lightburn. He married Sarah Bailey Pearson on 7 November 1814. He was an attorney, served in the Virginia House of Delegates (1818-1825 and 1828-1829), Virginia State Senate (1831-1839), and was Speaker of the State Senate from 1835 to 1839. He was Register of the Land Office from 11 April 1839 until 22 January 1865. He died in Richmond on 15 July 1871, and is buried in Hollywood Cemetery.
