Samuel Gilbert Webber (1838-1926) was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Aaron D. Webber. He obatined a medical degree from Harvard in 1860. From 1862 to 1865 he served as assistant surgeon in the Union Navy. After the war he worked in several hospitals in Boston.
