Biographical or historical data
Katherine Copeland Robertson was born 21 December 1886 in Danville, Virginia, to Walter Scott Copeland (1856-1928) and Mary Christian Copeland (d. ca. 1901). She grew up in Richmond, Virginia, where she attended school. In the 1920s she lived in New York where she was a writer. Ill health forced her return to Virginia where she married William Robertson of Arlington, Virginia, in the mid 1930s. After her husband's death in the early 1950s, Robertson moved to Petersburg, Virginia, where she continued to write and worked at the Petersburg Public Library. Robertson wrote several short stories and a book titled BRAVEST SURRENDER: A PETERSBURG PATCHWORK. Robertston died in Petersburg 18 February 1961 and was buried in the Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Washington.
