Register, 1784-1891, of the Reverend John Cameron. Includes records of Bristol Parish, 1784-1793; Nottoway Parish, 1794-1796, 1853-1891; and Cumberland Parish, 1796-1815. Contains marriages, 1784-1815, and baptisms and funerals, 1815. Many of these entries are for Dinwiddie and Prince George Counties, where the early court records are not extant. The Nottoway Parish records, 1853-1891, consist of baptisms, marriages, funerals, confirmations, membership lists, subscription lists, histories, minutes, and miscellaneous notes for specific years. John Cameron was born in Scotland in 1744 or 1745 and emigrated to Virginia after being educated at King's College in Aberdeen and ordained in 1770. He served as rector in Cornwall Parish, Charlotte County, 1771-1774; St. James' Parish, Mecklenburg County, 1774-1784; Bristol Parish, Dinwiddie and Prince George Counties and Petersburg, 1784-1793; Nottoway Parish, Nottoway County, 1794-1795; and Cumberland Parish, Lunenburg County, 1796-1815. Died 8 December 1815.
