Summary
The first twenty-four pages of this volume contain baptismal records, arranged in chronological order. On pages 44-70, there is an alphabetical listing of these baptisms, which appear to be transcribed by someone other than John Craig. The remaining pages include additional items, such as recipes and prescriptions, references to Land Office records, and family data. Some of these items appear to have been entered during the lifetime of John Craig and other items were obviously entered much later. For a published copy of the baptismal records see, THE TINKLING SPRING: HEADWATER OF FREEDOM, 1732-1752, p. 470-483, by Howard McKnight Wilson, 1954; LIST OF BAPTISMS BY REV. JOHN CRAIG, AUGUSTA COUNTY, VIRGINIA, 1740-1749, by L.B. Hatke; or AUGUSTA COUNTY, VIRGINIA BAPTISMAL RECORDS, 1740-1749, BY JOHN CRAIG, by Fay Maxwell, 1975
