Banks, both of Halifax County, Virginia, enclosing a letter from Baker to Richmond CONSTITUTIONAL WHIG editor John Hampden Pleasants (1797-1846) regarding Banks' allegation that the WHIG had been using federal funds to send out newspapers opposing Andrew Jackson's (1767-1845) candidacy for president in 1828. Baker asks Banks to comment on the enclosure before it is sent to Pleasants
