Meredith's political views, including his support for the administration of Andrew Jackson and his belief that the Union is a compact of sovereign states; and other social and family news. Also includes an unfinished deed, 11 May 1836, for a lot in Richmond, Virginia, from William and Sarah F. Meredith (d. 1865) to an as yet unspecified grantee

Biographical or historical data
William Meredith was born 15 January 1784 in New Kent County, Virginia, to Elisha Meredith (1756-1796) and Anne Layne Clopton (d. 1816). Meredith became a doctor and moved to Louisa County, Virginia, where he became a prominent member of the community. Meredith married Sarah Ford Gardner (1795-1865) 12 June 1809, and they had several children. Meredith died 13 March 1875.
