Contains a letter from Governor John Page, Richmond, to [Hugh Holmes], Speaker of the House of Delegates, enclosing a copy of an address from the District Court of Petersburg regarding a letter from Robert Birchett, Mayor of Petersburg, respecting the power of that court to adjourn to the courthouse of the Corporation of Petersburg. Also included is a copy of a document from the Dumfries District Court regarding the report of William Tyler & William Morgan who were appointed to examine the jail for the District at Haymarket. The Governor also writes that he encloses an estimate of the expense of erecting a building for the more effectual security of the brass & iron ordnance, but this document is not included
