Biographical or historical data
Francis Todd was born 6 February 1779 in Newburyport, Massachusetts, to Jeremy Todd (1745-1812) and Mary Todd (1744-1803). Todd became a prominent ship owner. In November 1829, Todd was attacked by William Lloyd Garrison (1805-1879) for being involved in the coastal slave trade in the United States. Todd married Abigail Brown 27 January 1805 and they had 6 children
