George Henry Thomas Greer was born in Rocky Mount, Virginia, on 20 April 1845, and died in Roanoke, Virginia, on 24 November 1916. He served with the 58th Virginia Infantry, Company C, and was wounded at Somerville Ford 14 September 1863. He was a clerk in Franklin County, 1864-1869 and 1871-1897, was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates 1869-1871, and judge in Roanoke, Virginia.
