Biographical or historical data
Vivian Minor was born 4 November 1750 in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, and raised there. He eventually moved to Caroline County, Virginia, and made his home at "Springfield." Minor served as a captain in the Virginia Line during the American Revolution. Minor was a magistrate and planter in Caroline County. He died 29 September 1791. He married first Barbara Overton Cosby (1752-1778) 15 June 1773 and they had 3 children. He married Elizabeth Dick (1760-1846) 31 March 1780, and they had 6 children. His second wife Elizabeth Minor applied for a Revolutionary War pension in 1838.
