Biographical or historical data
Mary Ball was born in 1708 to Joseph Ball (1649-1711) and Mary Montague Ball (d. 1721) of "Epping Forest," Lancaster County, Virginia. She married Augustine Washington (1694-1743) of Westmoreland County, Virginia, and they had six children, including George Washington (1732-1799). Mary Ball Washington died in Fredericksburg, Virginia, 25 August 1789, and was buried there.
