Biographical or historical data
Francis Peyton was born in Loudoun County in 1764 to Craven Peyton (ca. 1731-1780) and Ann West Peyton. Francis Peyton lived in Alexandria, Virginia, where he was a successful businessman. He was a justice in 1790, a trustee in 1795, and coroner in 1797. Peyton was also a colonel in the local militia. Peyton married Sarah Foushee (1769-1849) 20 October 1789, and they had children. Peyton died 26 August 1836 in Alexandria and was buried in St. Paul's Church cemetery.
