Biographical or historical data
Thomson (Thompson) Adams was born 17 October 1821 in King William County, Virginia. He was a railroad overseer for the Virginia Central Railroad Company, and oversaw construction on part of the railroad's line between Staunton and Covington, Virginia. When the Civil War began, Adams served as a captain in the 1st Virginia Reserve. After the war, he became a farmer in Albemarle County, Virginia. Adams had married by 1860, and he and his wife Gabriella (1839-1908) had six children. Adams was killed in a fight in Albemarle County 23 September 1873.
