Scrapbook containing clippings and transcripts of poems and songs, lists, and rosters dating from about Reconstruction. Poems and songs are about patriotism, family, children, mothers, religion, politics, death, and sentimentalism. Clippings are pasted over a previously used volume. The original volume, parts of which are still legible, contains list of individuals, primarily residents of Smyth County, Virginia, who have taken the Oath of Amnesty and a service roster (A-R) for Company C, 11th Connecticut Infantry, which may have been in Smyth County at the end of the Civil War
