Biographical or historical data
A. H. Shay was born in Virginia on 29 August 1839 and died in Seattle, Washington, on 29 May 1913. He married Julia Stanford Lewis of Fairfax County, Virginia, on 8 February 1869. He served with the 1st Louisiana Infantry Regiment during the Civil War.
