Biographical or historical data
Godlove Prince, or Gottlieb Printz, was born 20 September 1752 in York County, Pennsylvania, to Johann Philipp Brentz (Philip Prince) (1709-1794) and Anna Maria Schwenzer.. He moved to the Shenandoah Valley before the American Revolution and served in the Virginia militia during that war. He married Magdalene Crumm and they had four or six children. In 1804, Prince and his family moved to Bourbon County, Kentucky, but returned to Shenendoah County in 1806. He died in Shenandoah County 15 December 1806.
