Biographical or historical data
George Smith moved from Greensville County, Virginia, to Warren County, Mississippi, where he practiced medicine. His daughter Martha Rebecca Smith married Orville Martin Blanton (1828-1911) 7 February 1854, and they had at least three children. Blanton was also a doctor and served as civilian surgeon to the 1st Louisiana Artillery during the Civil War. He practiced in Greenville, Washington County, Mississippi.
