Biographical or historical data
Benjamin Carlisle Franklin was born in Ettrick, Chesterfield County, Virginia, 13 January 1887, to W. Thomas Franklin and Ida Eanes Franklin. Franklin worked as a trunk maker for the Seward Trunk and Bag Company, then became a shipping clerk, continuing to work for the company after it became part of the American Hardware Company. Franklin was a member of the Ettrick Methodist Church. He married Etta B. Marks(1886-1966) 23[?] December 1906, and they had a daughter. Franklin moved to Waverly, Sussex County, Virginia, after the death of his wife. He died in Suffolk, Virginia, and was buried at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg, Virginia.
