Contains a letter from Governor James Monroe, Richmond, to [Larkin Smith], Speaker of the House of Delegates, enclosing estimates of the probable expense of collecting & publishing the acts, private & public, passed prior to 1782. The Governor also advises on the republication of the laws passed since 1782. Enclosed is the resolution by William Wirt, Clerk of the House of Delegates, & H. Brooke, Clerk of the Senate, for the Executive to lay before the next General Assembly an estimate. Also enclosed are estimates from Thomas Nicolson, John Dixon, & Henry Pace. Lastly, there is a letter from Samuel Pleasants, Jr., & Henry Pace regarding the publication of the Revised Code of the Virginia Laws
