John Nathaniel Peed (1843-1935) was the son of Nancy Anna Powell Owens (1823-1886) and Robert Alexander Peed (1814-1858) of King George County, Virginia. He served with the 9th Virginia Cavalry Batallion, Company I. He married Virginia Coakley Peed (1850-1913) in c. 1870 and was buried in Oakland Baptist Church, Owens, King George County, Virginia.
