Biographical or historical data
Augustine Washington (1694-12 April 1743) was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia. A prosperous farmer, he moved his family to Ferry Farm in Stafford County, Virginia, across the Rappahannock River from Fredericksburg, Virginia. He married first Jane Butler (1699-1728), and they had 4 children. He married second Mary Ball (1708-25 August 1789), and they had 6 children. Mary Ball Washington continued to live in Fredericksburg. She died at the home of her eldest son, George Washington (1732-1799).
