Joseph Bledsoe (b. 1738) married Elizabeth (Betty or Betsy) Miller in Virginia, then emigrated to Kentucky. They had seven children, including William Miller Bledsoe who married Patience Owsley. They had a son, Moses Owsley Bledsoe, who married Sophia Taylor. Their son was Albert Taylor Bledsoe (1809-1877), who served in the Confederate Army and served as assistant Secretery of War for the Confederacy. Another of Joseph and Elizabeth Bledsoe's sons was Elijah Bledsoe (1771-by 1853), who married Judith Ball Jameson (1787-1867). They had children including Thomas Miller Bledsoe (1812-1860), who married Mary C. Winfrey (1822-1875). Their son Elijah Bledsoe (1841-1907) married Ottilla G. Snow (1843-1875). One of their children was Samuel Thomas Bledsoe (1868-1939), who became president of the Santa Fe Railroad. Samuel Thomas Bledsoe married first Elder Atkinson (d. 1897), and they had four children. He married second Talitha Bernard, and they had one daughter, Adelaide Maurine Bledsoe (1901-1999). She married first Edward Bartlett Cormack (1898-1942), and they had two children. She married second Howard Fithian Kingman (1890-1968), and they had no children.
