Will, 1 January 1860, of Thomas M. Bondurant (1797-1862) of Buckingham County, Virginia. Of particular interest in this detailed will is the list of the slaves that Bondurant owed. The will was probated in Buckingham County Court 9 June 1862 and re-recorded 14 August 1872 since the original will book containing this will and the original will both had been destroyed. This will can be found in Buckingham County Will Book 1, 1869-1903, pp. 136-140

Biographical or historical data
Thomas M. Bondurant was born 26 May 1797 in Buckingham County, Virginia, to William Bondurant (1769-1803) and Judith Anne Moseley Bondurant (1772-1855). He served in the War of 1812. A planter in Buckingham County, Bondurant had a commission as colonel in the Buckingham militia. Bondurant also owned the Richmond Whig. He married Louisa Marcia Moseley (1799-1879) 19 November 1823, and they had seven children. Thomas Bondurant died 8 May 1862 in Buckingham County and was buried in the Bondurant family at Variety Shade.
