Biographical or historical data
Robert T. White was born about 1844 in York County, Virginia, to William Henry White (1815-1890) and Harriet Frances White (1818-1884). A farmer when the Civil War began, White enlisted 27 May 1861 in Williamsburg, Virginia, as a private in Company I, 32nd Virginia Infantry. Later promoted to corporal, White served with his company until killed 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg, Maryland.
