Biographical or historical data
Wyndham Robertson, Jr., was born 2 March 1825 in Petersburg, Virginia, to William Robertson (1785-1855) and Christina Robertson (1790-1850). He attended Vue Mont Institute in Cartersville, Virginia, and La Valle School in Goochland County, Virginia. Robertson also attended Washington College in Lexington, Virginia. In 1855, he was appointed consul to Trieste, Italy, which was then in Austria, and remained there the rest of his life. Robertson married first Judith M. Pope of Memphis, Tennessee, 22 September 1847. He married second, Caterina Conte di Carlo (1836-1931) and they had four children. Robertson died in Trieste 6 September 1866.
