Biographical or historical data
Benjamin Hoomes (d. ca. 1812) served as a captain in the Virginia Continental line and received a warrant for 3,000 acres in the Virginia Military District for his services. He was a county justice and lived at "Point of View." He and his wife Mary had six children, Thomas Claiborne Hoomes (1781-1821), Benjamin P. Hoomes, Maria M. (Hoomes) Ball, George Hoomes, Patsey Hoomes, and John M. Hoomes. Thomas C. Hoomes was a major in the county militia and resided at "Malrose."
