The will book which contains this instrument is no longer extant. Transcript made from a transcript of Tinsley's will which appeared in the RICHMOND NEWS LEADER, 13 March 1903, on page 8. There is some question that the will may have been written 9 October 1700.

Biographical or historical data
Born about 1618, Thomas Tinsley immigrated to Virginia in 1638. He settled in James City County, Virginia, then purchased land in New Kent County, Virginia. He was a prosperous planter and may have participated in Bacon's Rebellion. He married Elizabeth Randolph and they had seven children. Tinsley died before 28 October 1702.
