Biographical or historical data
The Prince George Academy, located near Garysville, Prince George County, Virginia, was granted a charter by the Virginia General Assembly in 1842; however, the first school session did not begin until 5 January 1852. It had a short-lived career, since it was used as a school until the first year of the Civil War and, thereafter, as a storage building until it burned ca. 1928.
