Biographical or historical data
Joel Johns was born circa 1746 in Amelia County, Virginia, and married Dianisha Bruce. His son, John Alexander Johns, was born 2 October 1782 in Amelia County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth A. Morgan Johns on 22 December 1807 and died on 24 March 1865 in Lunenburg County. John Alexander Johns, Jr. born 18 July 1827. John A. Johns' son, Alfred Napoleon Johns, was born 22 October 1821 in Lunenburg County, Virginia. He married Nannie Dosia Bruce circa 1853 and died 22 September 1896 in Lunenburg County. Alfred N. Johns sister, Lauretta T. Crymes, was the wife of his merchant partner John Crymes.
