Biographical or historical data
Lazinka Ewell Crawford (1912-1984) was the daughter of Richard McLeod Crawford and the grandaughter of Benjamin S. Ewell (1810-1894), former president of the College of William and Mary. Born 26 March 1912, she attended Greensboro High School in Greensboro, North Carolina and then in 1928 enrolled at Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, Virginia. After only a year in Lynchburg, she transferred to the College of William and Mary where she graduated in 1933. On 28 August 1937, L.E. Crawford married Edmund Fitzgerald Ramsey of Gretna, Pittsylvania County, Virginia. They were living in Gretna when she died in March 1984.
