Biographical or historical data
Mary Ledger (M'Ledge) Moffett was born 11 January 1892 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She received her bachelor's degree from Teachers College in New York, New York, in 1913. She received her M.A. in 1921 and her Ph.D. in 1929, both from Columbia University. Moffet arrived at Radford College in 1913, as professor and chair of the Home Economics Department. In 1920 whe was appointed Dean of Women and held that position until she retired in 1963. Moffett was an educator and author, writing among other works, HISTORY OF THE STATE TEACHERS COLLEGE. Moffett died 3 February 1969 in Radford, Virginia.
