Vaughan Gary's "Your Congressman Reports", a weekly report on the activities of the United States Congress to the listeners of Virginia's Third Congressional District. These programs include information on legislation involving labor, civil rights, taxes, appropriations, urban renewal, trade, and banking. Gary also discusses Winston Churchill's address to a joint session of Congress, the Korean War, the Douglas MacArthur hearings, the death of Josef Stalin, the United Nations, and the United States Supreme Court's decision on the apportionment of state legislatures. Biographical or historical data
Julian Vaughan Gary was born in Richmond, Virginia on 25 February 1892. He graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts in 1912 and a law degree in 1915. He served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1926 to 1933. In March 1946, he was elected to the United States House of Representative in a special election and served until 1965. He died in Richmond, Virginia on 6 September 1973 and was buried in Hollywood Cemetery.
