Summary
Most entries record charges for school supplies purchased by students, but entries also appear for Ogilvie's personal accounts and rents and repairs to his school at Broad Run. Accounts taken as pay for his teaching and some student accounts, 1827-1846, appear throughout the volume. Includes list of subscribers to the Columbia Association Missionary Society, an account of the Female School for 1838, and notations for books lent and notes due, as well as a list of marriages "not returned" in Loudoun and Fauquier counties, 1837-1849

John Ogilvie (1793-1849) was a Baptist Minister, a teacher in Culpeper County, and a principal of the New Baltimore Academy in Broad Run, Fauquier County, Virginia, which was incorporated January 4, 1827.
