Biographical or historical data
Matthew Franklin Pleasants was born 17 September 1829 in Kentucky. He served as the clerk for the United States Circuit Court for Eastern Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Pleasants married Lydia Octavia Mosby (1827-1902) 6 October 1852, and they had at least four children. Pleasants died 2 November 1906 in Richmond and was buried in Hollywood Cemetery.
