  • Registers, 1840-1976 (bulk 1840-1965), of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in King George County, Virginia. 1) Register, 1840-1855, contains lists of marriages, communicants, families, baptisms, burials, and candidates for confirmation. 2) Register, 1860-1916, contains lists of communicants, baptisms for both white and "coloured" children, marriages for both white and "coloured" couples, burials, funerals, rectors with dates of resignation, confirmations, and alms accounts. 3) Register, 1911-1965, 1976, contains index of names in beginning of volume, lists of communicants, baptisms, confirmations, burials, marriages, and families (Ashton, Council, Philipchuk, and Singleton), chronology of alms giving, and correspondence regarding the Diocesan Missionary Society. The back of the volume includes resolutions passed by the vestry on 13 May 1888 in memory of Charles Mason and on 16 June 1889 in memory of Dr. Richard H. Biographical or historical data
The present St. Paul's Episcopal Church in King George County, Virginia was built in 1745. The state of Virginia took over the building to use it as an academy in 1813, but in 1817, Baptists, Methodists, and Episcopalians began sharing the building and using it as a church again.
