- Deposition, n.d., of Paul Revere (1735-1818) of Boston, Massachusetts, detailing his famous ride of 18 April 1775 in which he warned the Massachusetts Minutemen that the British Army was on the move from Boston to attempt to capture munition stores at Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts. Revere recounts his capture by British soldiers and his eventual release, and mentions the beginning of the battle of Lexington. Collection consists of a three page copy of the deposition and a two page transcript

- Paul Revere was born 1 January 1735 in Boston, Massachusetts, to Paul Revere and Deborah Hichborne Revere. He attended North Grammar School and apprenticed in the silversmith trade under his father. Revere served briefly in the French and Indian War, then began practicing his trade in Boston and expanded into engraving. Revere became active in Boston politics and was one of the leaders of the Boston Tea Party. He is most famous for his ride on 18 April 1775 to warn colonial leaders and militia that the British army was moving from Boston to outlying areas to capture colonial munitions. During the American Revolution, Revere saw little action commanding Castle William. Involved in the ill-fated Penobscot expedition, Revere was charged with cowardice, but was cleared by a court martial in 1782. Revere returned to Boston and resumed his silversmith work. He married Sarah Orne (d. ca. 1773) 17 August 1757, and they had eight children. He married Rachel Walker (d. 1815) 10 October 1773, and they had eight children. Paul Revere died in Boston 10 May 1818.
