- Papers, 1810-1813, of James Hewitt Hooe (d. 1825) of Alexandria, Virginia including correspondence and certificates relating to his purchase and importation of merino sheep from Portugal. The letters are written, and the certificates sworn to, by William Jarvis (1770-1859), United States consul to Portugal and later a resident of Weathersfield, Vermont. Portions of the certificates are written in Portuguese
