- Letters, 1815-1816, 1822, of James Robertson, Jr. of Amelia County, Virginia exchanged between him and Archibald Thweatt (1777-1844), a legal commissioner appointed to aid the settlement of disputed accounts between Robertson and William Branch Giles (1762-1830). Aside from discussion of the dispute, the letters also concern ongoing matters in the Virginia state government. The three men were all representatives from Amelia County in the Virginia state government

- James Robertson, Jr. of Amelia County, Virginia married Mary Epes on 2 October 1798. He served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1807-1809, 1811-1815 and the Virginia Senate from 1815-1823. In 1823 he was appointed the Register of the Land Office.
